VIP Electrical 'Alive' at Playford - March 5, 2009
The Playford Alive project , managed by the SA Land Management Corporation (LMC), aims to deliver new housing, public housing upgrades, new and upgraded shopping centres, proposed school sites, transport upgrades, sporting facilities and parks for Adelaide's outer northern suburbs.
Located 30 kilometres north of Adelaide, the project covers about 930 hectares. Existing suburbs of Smithfield Plains and Davoren Park will get an extensive makeover, while Munno Para West and Andrews Farm will get new housing and other developments.
The large-scale urban renewal project is expected to take 15 years to complete, during which time the population is expected to reach approximately 30,000.
VIP Electrical has won a contract to provide underground power reticulation for the project. This includes the installation of all street lighting and involves the instalaltion of 11 HV transformers and 2 ring mains.
